Rising to New Heights Over 35 Years: The Growth Story of AMIRA Group

On September 30, 2026, AMIRA Group celebrates its 35th anniversary. During this time, the company has evolved from trading in lighting equipment to having its own production of metal structures and lighting equipment, expanded its product range, and entered into projects where the height of individual structures exceeds 100 meters.

From trading to in‑house production

AMIRA Group began operations in St. Petersburg on September 30, 1991. In the early years, the company was engaged in trading in lighting equipment. In 1997, a design and engineering group was established; in 2000, the first metal structures factory was built; and three years later, the company launched the production of lighting equipment.

In‑house production became the foundation for further development. The range of products expanded, production capabilities grew, and new engineering challenges emerged. In 2015, the production base of the AMIRA group of companies was expanded with a plant in Krasny Bor, Leningrad Oblast.

Today, the structure of the AMIRA group of companies includes three production sites, a design group, and a construction and installation division. The company produces lighting supports and lighting equipment, masts with fixed and mobile crowns, supports for overhead power lines and cellular communications, flagpoles, lightning protection structures, supports for protective structures, and other products.

From standard products to complex engineering tasks

The expansion of the product range of the AMIRA Group of Companies is linked to the development of the projects themselves, which use metal structures. One of these areas is faceted lighting poles. When this type of pole was just beginning to appear on the Russian market, the company’s specialists introduced customers to the new technology and its capabilities. Over time, faceted poles have become a common solution for facilities of various purposes.

In 1996, the AMIRA company brought to Russia the technology for producing masts with a mobile crown. The first such structure was installed on Komsomolskaya Square in Moscow. Today, masts with a mobile crown are used at various sites where it is necessary to place equipment at a considerable height and ensure its maintenance without specialists having to climb the mast.

The scale of the projects has also changed. The AMIRA Group’s product range includes masts 100 metres high, and there is the technical capability to manufacture masts taller than 100 metres; structures for accommodating various equipment, supports, and other products that are designed taking into account specific operating conditions.

For each project, specialists take into account loads, climatic conditions, the method of installation, the composition of the equipment, and the requirements for further maintenance. This approach makes it possible to select a design that meets the actual conditions of the site, rather than simply choosing a product from a standard range.
