The AMIRA company has been manufacturing flagpoles of various heights for many years: from 5-meter to 100-meter. Considering that large flagpoles with a height of more than 20 meters are usually installed in iconic places, they should look presentable not only during the day, but also at night. Over the years, the specialists of the AMIRA company have developed their own approaches to the organization of vertical illumination.
Projects for the installation of tall flagpoles are always unique: the designs differ, even with the same height, the size of the flag, etc. The chosen color of the trunk is responsible for the daytime appearance of the flagpole, and for the night – competent illumination. Moreover, the higher the flagpole, the more difficult the implementation, because it is necessary to highlight not only the trunk, but also the flag.
When solving the problem of vertical illumination of the flagpole, there are points that must be taken into account:
1) The higher the flagpole, the higher the total power of the lighting equipment. A spotlight that has performed well when illuminating a 20-meter-high structure is most likely not suitable for a 100-meter height. He won’t be able to light up the entire length of the flagpole, let alone the flag.
2) the stability of the searchlight in the position with the optical part facing up. Not every model of powerful floodlight is designed for long-term use in the upward direction. This may be hindered by the structural features of the housing, which do not allow efficient heat removal. In this case, melting of the lenses and other thermal damage is possible.
3) the location of the light sources relative to the flagpole. There may be a situation when, due to landscaping of the surrounding area, floodlights will need to be installed in close proximity to the flagpole, and it is also possible to locate them away from the lighting object. It is necessary to select searchlights with the required beam width or a combination of their types.
The SKU 66A and Sufa series floodlights are more often used in their projects. Due to their designs, the LED floodlights of these series do not overheat when the light beam is directed upwards.
AMIRA has sufficient experience in the development and implementation of flagpole lighting and will help you choose the equipment based on your wishes and initial conditions. We only use floodlights that have already proven themselves well on similar sites, both in terms of obtaining the desired visual effect and in terms of reliability.
