One-way lighting mast with movine frame Sail system

The mobile crown lighting mast (VMO series) is a good solution for lighting a large area with fast and safe maintenance without the use of hydraulic lifts. This is one of the most popular series in the company’s product range. But if the project requires illumination from the mast only on one side? In this case, counterweights are placed on the “traditional” crown with spotlights, taking into account the weight of the devices being placed. It’s not always convenient. Especially when replacing floodlights, changing their number, placing additional equipment, etc., counterweights are often forgotten, which leads to crown warping and jamming.

To facilitate the task of one-way lighting, the AMIRA design group has developed a special modification of the masts of the VMO series – a one-way lighting mast with a mobile crown of the ‘Sail” system.

The searchlights can be adjusted and aimed from the ground or from a tower, in accordance with the targeting scheme.

The principle of operation is the same as in the usual masts of the VMO series, but the searchlights are located, as the name suggests, only on one side on a special module, and movement takes place along a guide rail located on the trunk. The placement of spotlights on one side of the crown allows you to illuminate only the necessary areas of the object and not load the usual round crown with additional loads for balance.

The VMO-Sail mast can be used for lighting at the following sites:

railways: railway tracks, shunting slides
airports: aircraft parking
ports: loading and unloading terminals
sports facilities: stadiums and sports grounds

The AMIRA design group has developed two types of masts:

Height from 20 to 30 m. with a maximum number of searchlights – 12 pcs., load capacity up to 450 kg. Used for airports, ports and railways – VMO Sail system Mast>>
Height from 20 to 40 m. with a maximum number of searchlights – 24 pcs., load capacity up to 1,500 kg. It is used for sports facilities and ports – The sports mast of one-sided lighting “Sail”>>

The mast is equipped with guide rails mounted above the hatch to the very top for lowering and lifting the mobile unit. The rollers/wheels of the mobile unit are constantly engaged with the guide rail during operation.
