The new terminal of Novy Urengoy Airport is the largest air harbor in Yamal and the first experience in Russia of modernizing airport infrastructure under a concession. Since 2019, the runways have been reconstructed and a terminal with an area of about 19.6 thousand square meters has been built. Outwardly, the terminal looks like a camp of island-peaked plague.
Inside, everything is done for a comfortable stay of passengers: cafes, shops, a mother and child room, a playground are open. 11 elevators have been installed, including four escalators for passengers with limited mobility. Passenger control, check-in and service equipment has been installed. The new luggage system has more than 350 meters of conveyor belts and is capable of handling up to 540 pieces of luggage per hour. The building is fully adapted for operation in the conditions of the Far North: three thermal bridges will allow passengers to board the plane comfortably. In addition, the terminal is equipped with a warm bass gate (autotunnel) designed for boarding and disembarking passengers at bus platforms inside.
Lighting of the territory of the new complex was entrusted to the AMIRA group of companies. For the aprons, 10 high-mast poles with a mobile crown and 42 MAHA Plus series floodlights (300, 400 and 600 W) were designed and produced. The station square is illuminated with the help of 56 decorative lighting complexes of the KODS series. All equipment is manufactured taking into account operation in the conditions of the Far North.
